Complete mission for C & S engineering.
The T2-campus is situated in Thor Park in Genk, where the former mining site of Waterschei is being redeveloped into a technology hotspot. The area around the campus is a nature reserve. The T2-campus is an open house of 24,400 m2, with state-of-the-art technical laboratories and classrooms. Daily 1.300 trainees can take part in training programmes. The building is an open and shared space that houses both conventional equipment and new technologies. The main hall at the heart of the campus is four stories high and has a free span of 17,5 m. The project does not have a principal façade to the front or the back but rather two entrance areas of equal prominence.
The characteristics of the building are: a large open central hall, adjoining flexible spaces that can rapidly be transformed thanks to a maximal use of prefabrication, large windows that allow natural daylight and give views onto the green landscape of Thor Park. The project does not have a principal façade to the front or the back but rather two entrance areas of equal prominence.
