After an architectural competition initiated by AGORA, which is responsible for urban development of Belval in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the team of Steinmetzdemeyer Architectes Urbanistes, Atenor and Ney & Partners were selected.
Since 2000 the former industrial site has been undergoing re-development into a new city quarter with an area of 120 hectares. The competition winning design is one of the three laureates from a selection of 22 international design and build teams. It concerns the realization of a mixed-use building of 14,300 m² that will consist of offices, homes and shops.
The next step is the introduction of a Particular Development Plan in consultation with the local authorities of the municipalities of Sanem, Esch-sur-Alzette. copyright image: Steinmetzdemeyer Architectes Urbanistes
