Last December the construction started with the placing of the pile foundations.

These two 60m long and 2.5m wide footbridges will be made out of Corten steel and concrete and will form a slender and transparent promenade alongside the medieval entrance to the City of Bruges. When the footbridges will be in service, the pedestrian, cyclist and vehicle traffic flows will be separated and therefore more fluid. The image and the monument status of the historical building are an essential part of the design.
