The technology and talent campus is an ambitious project initiated by VDAB, Syntra Limburg and the City of Genk. It forms a part of a larger reconversion plan for this former mining region (SALK). Construction started at the beginning of 2017, but a few weeks ago there was a ceremony for the placement of the foundation.
The design team Atelier Kimpe Thill – Osar and Ney & Partners have conceived a new type of educational building that puts technology at the forefront. High-tech laboratories for innovative energy technologies, IT and electrical materials will be housed in the new campus building. Atelier Kimpe Thill and Ney & Partners have already completed the Energyville II building on the THOR Park site.
