Ingelmunster - 08.030
Program
Complete engineering study
Concept
In 2007, the town center of Ingelmunster (West Flanders, Belgium) has been subject of a masterplan by the Joint Venture O360 - Bas Smet to which the full architecture study has been comissionned. The center as such, with its city house, the church and the market place, is cut from the station by the Mandel valley and the Roeselare-Leie canal. The project consists of the unification and the levelling of the different elements. A new bridge above the canal, required to allow the new ship profiles, enables to link the town center with the station and aims to be the continuity of the public space. The station and the market place are also renewed within the same architectural language for the street finishing and the canopies.
Specific features
The project comprises numerous phases, with different deadlines but not independant, and numerous parties (Ingelmunster city council, Infrabel, De Lijn, Waterwegen&Zeekanaal, AWV, etc). Only a coherent and professional project-team can achieve to maintain the quality and the ideas of the initial project through time.
