Renovation of concrete façade in the housing estate Galaxie
Concept
Research on the causes of concrete degradation, analysis, diagnosis and intervention methods. According to the state of deterioration and carbonation, the concrete is demolished and rebuilt to its original shape, repaired with mortar or protected by the use of mineral painting.
Specific features
The housing estate counts 22 high and low buildings, built in 3 phases between 1977 to 1981. The concrete of the first phases is more carbonated than these of the last phase. This difference explains the better execution of the third phase.
