Program
Complete study of the structure.
Concept
The renovation and construction of the Provincial Institute of Further Education, with a capacity of 50 persons. The “white building” has been renovated with the passive energy technology and the new part has been constructed with the same technology. Both buildings are linked with each other through an atrium.
Specific features
The energy consumption of the new building won’t more than 10kWh/m² on a yearly basis. This is 90% less energy use than a conventional building.
The quality of the insulation and the waterproofing allowed us not having to use a conventional heating system. The air quality is controlled by the heating/ventilation system and this system makes it also possible to retrieve heat. The triple glazing (neutral type) has a selective spectral which tolerates us to increase the window ratio even so the useful surface is only 15% to 25% of the total surface.
