Program

Complete study of stability of a new office building, urban landscape and a couple of canopies.

Concept

The new building is build out of a 30cm thick concrete shell. It is a pile of 3 rotated boxes. The building is provided with only 11 columns, which are all placed under a certain inclination. There will be strong horizontal deformations due to the rotated positions of the boxes and the inclined columns. By adding an eccentric concrete core and by choosing well-defined positions of the columns, we have been able to reduce the deformations.

Specific features

An advanced 3D-model has been necessary to determine the short and long term horizontal deformations. We did also pay a lot of attention to the phasing of the form-work and the temporary forces.
