Program

Architectural project and study of stability.

Concept

The project of Amoras (Antwerp company of mechanical drainage, recycling and application of silt) lies in the installation of a system of treatment of the silt in the port of Antwerp and its basins. Since the silt is drained, the effluent is purged and the dried residues contained in the filters are stored and recycled into construction materials. The mission of the study of stability of a gantry of dredging of the THV SeReAnt (Jan de Nul - Envisan - Dredging International - DEC) was entrusted to Ney & Partners.

Specific features

The gantry consists of a movable bridge with a span of 173,5m rotating around a fixed point above 4 dredging basins. It is used as suspension for two pumps which must be able to move along the span. The project designed by Ney & Partners consists of a steel bridge formed by two arcs connected by horizontal steel plates.
