Complete study and design of a footbridge.
Concept
The footbridge has a span of 30m, and a width of 2m. The structural system consists of a single U-shaped steel profile, whereby the bottom flange serves as walking surface, the web as a parapet and the upper flanges as bridge rail. The cross section of the bridge is continuous and fluent in form.
Specific features
The bridge rail was laser-cut according to a pattern derived from the flow of forces in this part of the bridge.
