Economy Pavillion - 05.030
Program
Complete design and study of the pavilion’s steel structure and membrane as well as the steel structure for the ramp.
Concept
For its 100th anniversary of the city of Esch sur Alzette, a series of pavilions is built to host exhibitions and conferences. This particular pavilion consists of a series of steel portal frames that are linked by horizontal elements. These portal frames are supported on slender, inclined columns that resist the horizontal forces. The membrane is tensioned in the longitudinal direction against the end frames, in the transverse direction underneath the pavilion. The structure for the ramp, consists of steel plates and has a cantilever supported on a tubular beam.
