Concept
Transformation of the Villa Vauban and extension of an art museum in a scenic landscape, including the reshaping of the park. Villa Vauban will house the permanent collection and the extension houses the temporary exhibitions.
Specific features
The building finds itself on a rocky terrain. There is also a fortress wall on site that needs to be kept and visibly integrated in the project. Watertightness between the existing and the new building is critical. Exposed concrete is used for the interior of the new extension.
