Complete study of the structure of a factory hall.
Concept
A structurally simple solution that reflects the necessity of an uncluttered large hall, organized lengthwise according to the production process line.
Specific features
A hyper-static system minimises all dimensions. The use of steel beams frees the workshop floor of all supports, over a width of 33 m and a span of 108 m. A double row of columns provides two intermediate supports. This row forms a communication axis along one wing of the workshop. The beams of the portal frames are reconstituted welded profiles with a web thickness of 6 mm. Their variable height (from 23cm to 216cm) follows the bending moment diagram, the slope of the roof as well as the shape of the lanterns.
