On 6th and 8th May, a symposium organised by young Brussels-based architectural firm SHSH in association with BOZAR (Brussels) and R.I.B.A (Royal Institute for British Architects, London) will be held.
The series of lectures, debates and project proposals will discuss the roles and tasks which designers, architects, engineers, schools of architecture and professional associations can take after ecological catastrophes. The input of these parties appears indispensable through from the reestablishment of utilities, the damage assessment, and the first logistical organisation of the clean up, to shaping the vision concerning reconstruction and sustainable construction.
The objective of this symposium is to share the Japanese experience, learn from European experts and raise international awareness and support for people who live in affected areas.
