Bonobo & Dijle Bridges 15/01/2005
In
the framework of "Open Oproep" (the tender program of
the Flemish Community) Ney and Partners has won two bridge
design competitions.
The Bonobo-bridge is a pedestrian and cyclist bridge
over the channel of Willebroek.
The entirety of the bridge with approach ramps is a
fluid spatial curve with minimal spans.
The bridge cross-section is a simple section,
the supports are designed as columns subjected to
compression only. The
entire design is based on a element and detail reduction.
The
second project concerns two small traffic bridge over the
river Dijle in the region of Leuven North.
This bridge consists of advanced concrete beams with
reservations. Statically
the beam rests on four supports without joints.
The design is based on durability and construction
simplicity.
